Move your Minecraft server from PebbleHost
Moving is three steps: get the files out of PebbleHost, put them here with the importer, point your players at the new address. Your world, plugins or mods and configs come along; nothing is retyped.
1. Get the files out of PebbleHost
PebbleHost’s game panel is at panel.pebblehost.com and its Minecraft plans list full FTP access: open the FTP or SFTP details page in the panel and put the host, port, username and password into the importer. Backups there are daily with hourly incremental copies, so you can import from a clean snapshot instead of a running world. If the server came from PebbleHost’s one-click modpack installer, install the same pack here first from Resources, Modpacks, then import only the world and configs. Two things do not travel: the subdomain PebbleHost issued, and an extra port added in the panel for a plugin such as Votifier or dynmap.
2. Bring them here
- Create the server on FadeHost with the same software and Minecraft version as the old one. Do not start it yet.
- More for this server, Import from another host (also under Settings, Import).
- Choose SFTP or FTP and enter the old host’s details, or upload the zip you downloaded. Pick what to pull: the world, plugins or mods, configs.
- Start the server and read the console. A plugin that stored the old address or an absolute path needs a config edit.
3. Switch the address
Players take the new address from the server page, or from the join page you share. A custom domain moves by changing its SRV record, or by connecting the domain in Settings, General, Your own domain. Keep PebbleHost for a day while people switch, then cancel it. Cancelling happens in the billing area at billing.pebblehost.com, which is a separate login from the game panel.
What is different here
- One RAM pool for every server, changed by the gigabyte at any time; sleeping servers cost nothing while asleep.
- A plugin that used the MySQL database there gets one here too: More for this server, Add a database. See Databases.
- Backups are automatic and restores, clones and per-file downloads are one click.
