What the guide site does

Three pages, already written

How to join, Rules and Mods, ready to be edited into yours.

A Markdown file is a page

Add one for shops, claims, the map or staff applications and it joins the menu.

One settings file

The server name, the tagline, the address and the Discord link live in src/site.ts.

Quick on a phone

Dark, small and readable, with no database and nothing to keep running.

What is where

src/site.ts
The name, tagline, addresses, Discord invite and menu order.
src/content/pages/*.md
One file per page, with a title and a summary at the top.
src/styles/global.css
Colours and spacing.
astro.config.mjs
Your site's real address, under site.

Which plan it needs

The free plan runs it. The site sleeps when nobody has visited for a while and the next visit takes a few seconds; Starter keeps it awake.

Free

Recommended

$0

No card

  • 256 MB and a quarter of a CPU
  • The address sleeps when idle and wakes on the next visit
  • 1 GB of traffic a day

Starter

$2/mo

or $20 a year

  • Always awake, with 1 GB and a full vCPU
  • No traffic limit
  • A MySQL database included

Running more than one? Standard carries two bots or apps for $3 a month and Pro four for $6, on one bill with your game servers. Every plan

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know Astro?

No. You edit Markdown files and one settings file; Astro turns them into plain HTML when it builds.

Can it use my own domain?

Yes. Add it under the app's web address settings and set one CNAME at your DNS provider. The certificate is issued on its own.

What about a live map and player stats?

That is the community website, $3 a month: a live world map, a playtime leaderboard and join info for a Minecraft server, with nothing to write.

Can I deploy it without a copy of my own?

The Server guide site template in the panel deploys ours as it is, with Emberfell on every page, which is good for a look. Your own copy is the one you edit.

Give your server a guide site

Your first app is free, with no card, and gets its own https address.
