What you get on a Palworld server
Open-world survival with creature collecting and base building. Everything below is in the panel from the moment the server finishes installing.
- DDoS protection and NVMe storage on every server
- Daily backups with one-click restore and a file manager
- Console, scheduled tasks, team access and SFTP
- Split your RAM across as many servers as you want
Palworld server requirements
What the server needs before you pick a size. 4 GB of RAM is the minimum, and the table below sizes it by player count.
- RAM
- 4 GB minimum. Every extra gigabyte is $1 a month and can be added or removed later without a reinstall.
- CPU
- Heavy per player: pal AI and base logic tick on the server. Eight friends want a fast core more than they want RAM.
- Disk
- A few GB for the server, small saves. 30 GB included.
- Ports
- One UDP game port and a query port, assigned for you.
- Mods and plugins
- Server-side mods through the UE4SS loader and community packs; upload through the file manager. Most balance changes are settings, not mods.
- Your existing world
- Upload a save folder to the SaveGames directory; the panel keeps automatic backups because Palworld saves are easy to corrupt with a hard stop.
RAM by player count
Sizing by player count. Start small and add RAM later in a couple of clicks, with no reinstall. For a Minecraft server with plugins, mods or Bedrock players, the RAM calculator sizes it from what servers hosted here use.
| Players | Recommended RAM | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2 to 6 | 8 GB | Fresh world, small group |
| 6 to 16 | 12 GB | Established bases, active guilds |
| 16 to 32 | 16 GB | Long-running world with heavy building |
How to make a Palworld server
Palworld co-op through the invite-code system caps at four players and dies when the host quits. A dedicated server lifts the cap to 32 and stays up 24/7.
- 1
Create your server
Start the free 7-day trial (no credit card) or pick a plan. 4 GB starts a small server; 8 GB+ keeps large bases and many Pals smooth. Then hit Create Server in the panel, choose Palworld and your region, and the server installs itself. Your server's address and port appear on the server page as soon as it's up.
- 2
Name and protect your world
Set the server name, description, password and player cap from the Settings tab. Your world saves live on the server and are included in automatic backups.
- 3
Join the server
In Palworld pick Join Multiplayer Game, ignore the official list, and enter your server's address and port in the direct-connect bar at the bottom. Friends do the same, and nobody needs an invite code.
What the panel hands you
- Address
- On the server page as soon as it is up, port and all.
- Console and files
- Live console, a file manager and SFTP, from the first minute.
- Backups
- Daily, with one-click restore and a backup you can take by hand before a risky change.
- If it goes wrong
- The crash doctor reads the log and tells you the cause in plain words.
What a Palworld server costs
You pay for RAM, not for the title: a server slot is $2.50 a month with 1 GB and 30 GB of storage, and every gigabyte after that is $1. A year is ten months. The same subscription runs Palworld today and anything else we host tomorrow.

Who can join
The honest version, so nobody buys a server their friends cannot reach.
Platforms
PC on Steam. Dedicated servers are Steam-based; Xbox and PlayStation players join where the developer's crossplay support allows it, which has widened with recent patches.
Crossplay
Steam players always join. Console joins depend on the current crossplay support of the game; check the patch notes before promising it to a group.
Regions and latency
Pick Europe or North America when you create the server. North America has nodes on the east coast and the west coast, Europe in the west, all on NVMe storage with DDoS protection in front. Players on the same continent as the server see 20 to 60 ms, which Palworld handles well; a group split across the Atlantic should host where most of them are. Changing region later is a backup, a new server in the other region, and a restore.
Frequently asked questions
- Why host a dedicated Palworld server instead of co-op?
- Co-op worlds only exist while the host is playing and cap out at 4 players. A dedicated server runs 24/7, supports up to 32 players, and your base keeps producing while everyone is offline. Guild raids and breeding timers keep ticking too.
- How much RAM does a Palworld server need?
- Palworld is memory-hungry: start at 8 GB for a small group. Long-running worlds grow, and 16 GB keeps a busy 10+ player server comfortable. Scheduled restarts (built into the panel) keep the well-known Palworld memory creep under control.
- Can I transfer my co-op world to a dedicated server?
- Yes. Your local save lives in the game's SaveGames folder: upload it via our file manager, adjust the server's save ID, and your bases, Pals and progress carry over. Our docs walk through it step by step.
- Does Palworld support crossplay on dedicated servers?
- Community dedicated servers are Steam-only today. Xbox/Game Pass players can only join official or co-op sessions. That's a game limitation, not a hosting one, and we'll support crossplay the day Pocketpair ships it.
- How do updates work? Palworld patches frequently.
- The server checks for updates on restart and installs them automatically. When Pocketpair ships a patch, restarting from the panel is all it takes. You can pin a version if your group wants to update on its own schedule.
- Can I change difficulty, rates and world settings?
- Yes. Day/night speed, EXP rate, capture rate, incubation time, death penalty and dozens more are editable in the panel and apply on restart. No manual INI wrangling required.
