Frequently Asked Questions

How much RAM does a Core Keeper server need?

2 GB runs a fresh world with a few friends comfortably. The world file grows as you explore, so give a long running server 4 GB of headroom.

How do friends join my server?

Two ways. The console prints a Game ID right after boot, and friends paste it into Join Game in the main menu with no port forwarding needed. Or they connect directly with the server address, port and join password shown in your panel.

Is my server password protected?

Yes. Every server runs with a join password, generated for you at creation. You can change it any time in the server settings.

Can I upload an existing world?

Yes. Upload your world save through the file manager or SFTP into the saves folder, keep the same world slot, and restart the server.

Can I change the world mode later?

You can switch between Normal, Hard, Creative and Casual in the settings and restart. The world seed only applies when a world is first generated.
