Set up a server for Keo Optimized
On your own machine

Run the Fabric installer for Minecraft 26.3 on Java 25, accept the EULA in eula.txt and start it once. No pack files go on the server.

Performance and vanilla-plus packs need nothing on the server. If your group wants server-side additions, add them as ordinary mods; players do not need them installed.

Forward TCP 25565, share your public address, and have everyone install Keo Optimized in their launcher. Players without the pack can still join.

- Keo Optimized is a client-side pack: rendering, performance and interface mods that run on each player's PC. Nothing in it runs on the server.
- Any Fabric 26.3 server works with it. Players who do not use the pack join the same server.
- Shaders and performance mods are the classic cause of a dedicated server refusing to boot; never copy a client pack into a server's mods folder.
- The pack marks its server side as optional on Modrinth: a server can run the same mods for a matching experience, but does not have to.
