The amount of RAM that you need depends on what you plan to do with your Minecraft server. If you wish to play a modpack then we recommend starting with at least 2.5GB of RAM which is our Zombie plan. For a plugin based server or vanilla we recommend starting with the lowest plan. In all cases you can upgrade your Minecraft server instantly whenever you want, with no downtime.

You can upgrade your Minecraft server plan instantly and without losing any data, the only thing that will change in the upgrade is the amount of RAM assigned to your server.

A dedicated IP looks like 123.123.123.123 and has the default port of 25565, this means that your players don't have to enter a port when joining your Minecraft server. This also gives you the benefit of using the default ports for other services such as dynmap, votifier and others.

A domain looks like example.com and a subdomain looks like play.example.com, its also commonly called a "custom IP". You can get a subdomain for free with the purchase of any plan and you can get a domain for free with the purchase of specific plans. Please refer to the plan list as they will indicate which plans include a free domain.
