How to make a Terraria server

A dedicated Terraria server means your world stays online even when the host logs off — no more 'waiting for the host to get home'.

  1. 1

    Create your server

Start the free 7-day trial (no credit card) or pick a plan — 2 GB covers a normal world with a handful of players. Then hit Create Server in the panel, choose Terraria and your region, and the server installs itself. Your server's address and port appear on the server page as soon as it's up.

  2. 2

    Shape your world

Pick world size, difficulty and a server password from the Settings tab. The world generates on first boot; upload an existing .wld through the file manager if you'd rather continue an old world.

  3. 3

    Join the server

In Terraria choose Multiplayer → Join via IP, enter the address and port from your server page, and the password if you set one.
